Maurits’s career is powered by curiosity, innovation, and a passion for elevating the built environment. He launched his architectural journey at Don Alberts and Partners (Sound Space Design), where his talent quickly stood out. Within just a few years, he rose to senior design architect and branch manager, contributing to award-winning projects celebrated for their precision and bold design thinking.
His momentum continued at Ebesa Architects, where he stepped into the role of director and led some of Cape Town’s most influential public-sector projects – from the City of Cape Town’s Electricity Department Headquarters to the revitalisation of Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital. Guiding developments valued at over R1.7 billion, Maurits brought sharp technical insight and confident leadership to complex, high-impact work.
Today, as a director and senior architect at ARC Studio Architects and Interior Designers, Maurits channels his vision into shaping spaces that are purposeful, progressive, and people-centred. With an energetic, collaborative approach, he inspires teams, drives innovation, and helps craft projects that leave a lasting, meaningful mark on the urban landscape.
